Privacy Policy

Al Ameen Group of Companies (“Al Ameen Group”, “we”, “us”) is a group of transport and automotive companies established in the United Arab Emirates in 1999. We are the controller of any personal data processed through this website, alameengroup.ae (the “Site”), within the meaning of the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (the “PDPL”).

This policy covers the Site only. Each company of Al Ameen Group provides its own services under its own contracts and, where it has one, its own website and privacy notice.

The Site is an information site. It has no accounts, no login, no contact or enquiry forms, no online payments, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It does not collect your name, your email address or anything else you type, because there is nowhere on it to type anything.

What remains is set out below: the technical records every website's hosting produces, two small preferences kept in your own browser, and the motion sensor that the About page may use on a phone — with your permission, on your device only.

Like every website, the Site is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers record each request in an access log: the IP address the request came from, the page or file requested, the date and time, the referring page if any, and the browser and device type. These records exist to serve the pages, to keep the Site secure and to diagnose faults.

We do not use access logs to identify or profile visitors, we do not combine them with any other information, and we do not share them with anyone except the hosting provider that produces them. The hosting provider retains them for a limited period under its own security practices and then deletes them.

The Site sets no cookies. It keeps two preferences in your browser's own storage, on your device, which are never sent to us: a note that the opening logo animation has already played in this browsing session, so that it does not play again on every page (kept until you close the browser tab), and a note that you have seen this policy and the Terms of Use, with the date of the version you saw (kept until you clear your browser's site data).

Neither preference identifies you. You can remove both at any time by clearing the Site's data in your browser settings; the Site works exactly the same without them, and will simply show the notice and the animation again.

On a phone or tablet, the photograph frames on our About page move with the tilt of your device, with your scrolling and with your finger as it passes over them. To follow the tilt, the page reads the device's orientation sensor through your browser. The readings are used only to move the frames, only inside your browser, at the moment they are read; they are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, never stored, and never combined with any other information.

On devices whose browser requires permission for the sensor (iPhone and iPad), your browser asks you once, at your first touch of the Site on any page, and remembers your answer for the visit. If you decline, or if your device has no such sensor, the frames still move with your scrolling and your finger, and the Site is identical in every other way. The Site sets no cookie and keeps no record of your answer beyond your browser's own memory of it.

The Site's telephone links open your own phone application; its map links, and its links to LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp and other services, open those services, which have their own privacy policies and which we do not control. Nothing about your use of those links is recorded by the Site.

If you telephone or visit one of our offices, the information you give us — your name, your contact details, the nature of your enquiry — is used to respond to you and, if you become a customer of one of our companies, is handled by that company under its own contract and notice. We keep enquiry records only for as long as the enquiry and any resulting relationship require, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

Where the PDPL requires a lawful basis, ours are: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable website (the access logs); your consent (the motion sensor, which you may refuse or withdraw at any time through your device's settings); and the steps needed to respond to an enquiry you make or to enter into a contract you ask for.

We share personal data only with the hosting provider that delivers the Site, for the purpose of delivering it, and with any authority to whom the law requires disclosure. The Site's hosting provider may operate servers outside the United Arab Emirates; the only data that reaches those servers is the automatic access log described above, and it is protected by the provider's contractual and technical safeguards.

Under the PDPL you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you and to receive a copy; to have inaccurate data corrected; to have data erased where there is no longer a reason to keep it; to restrict or object to processing; to receive data you have provided in a portable form; to withdraw a consent you have given; and to complain to the UAE Data Office if you believe your rights have not been respected.

To exercise any of these rights, contact either office by telephone or in writing at the addresses above. We will respond within the period the PDPL allows, and we may ask you to confirm your identity first so that we do not disclose data to the wrong person. Because the Site itself holds no data about you, most requests will concern an enquiry or a contract you have made with one of our offices.

The Site is served over HTTPS only, and its content is held as static files with no database of visitor data to protect. Enquiry records held by our offices are kept under access controls appropriate to their sensitivity and are retained no longer than their purpose requires, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

The Site is intended for adults and businesses. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children, and it has no facility through which a child could provide any.

We may update this policy when the Site or the law changes. The effective date at the top is the date of the current version. When the policy or the Terms of Use change materially, the first-visit notice appears again on your next visit so that you can read the new version before continuing.
